LAVENDER et ROSÈ  en PROVENCE: A Travel-Journal and Zentangle®  Adventure  for Artists and the Curious at Heart (June 25 - July 2, 2016)

Darlene Marwitz, Associate AIA:
Artist and author Darlene Marwitz started sewing her own garments in her teens and later enrolled in weaving and textile courses as a part of her curriculum in studio arts at the University of Houston where she received a BFA degree. Two master's degrees followed from the School of Architecture at The University of Texas in Austin. Marwitz has worked on significant historic preservation and restoration projects, primarily in Texas, and has overseen the research, design, and reproduction of numerous period textiles: woven matelasse and brocatelle drapery fabrics and hand-crafted passementerie, plus Wilton and Brussels carpets loomed in England. One travel-related aspect of Darlene's current studio work incorporates the visual possibilities of individual "art journal pages."
Beth Cunningham, Artist (CZT, Certified Zentangle®  Teacher):

Beth Cunningham has exhibited unique art for 40 years, from heavily woven pieces and delicate stitch work to layered airbrush on canvas and to heavily textured acrylic on paper. Her undergraduate work in clothing and textiles, meshed with her graduate work in mixed media, was the beginning of her fibers journey. Her art teaching experience of 42 years merges her love of art and fibers in her “Fiber Embellished Tangles” workshop. Beth is artist-in-residence at Studio Villa Texas in Fredericksburg.
